Bond Street is adjacent to the Town Church and runs from Mulcaster Street to Conway Street/Library Place.  Mulcaster Street carries on to the bus station, taxi rank, Liberation Square and Waterfront and Conway Street and Library Place. Library Place is the location for four of the main clearing banks, another taxi rank and the Jersey Post Office.  The Weighbridge area which has now become Liberation Square, and the soon to be opened Liberation  Station  is pictured right but in the 1800's.

Royal Yacht Pool

The Royal Yacht Hotel is two minutes away, on the corner of Mulcaster Street and the Weighbridge where the bus station is Royal Yacht Receptionsituated.  The hotel has been totally refurbished to the cot of thirty million pounds and facilities include a large luxury health spa providing a range of specialist treatments, facilities and therapies, a fully equipped gym and indoor heated swimming pool.  Within the hotel there are two public bars, alfresco dining and three restaurants with a Chef who's previously worked at the Dorchester. The restaurants vary from gourmet cuisine at Restaurant Sirocco to plainer meals such as steaks at the Grill.  The nightclub offers fantastic live entertainment.

Thought to be the oldest hotel in St. Helier it had various other names. In 1833 it was referred to as the London and Yacht Hotel and there are later references to it as The Hotel de Paris and the Royal Yacht Club Hotel. This is a Victorian style hotel that retains its older features and has three delightful bars, an excellent restaurant and a grill bar.

Famous guests have included Queen Victoria, and the hotel has a ship's bell in reception which it is said, came from the actual Royal Yacht.  Other visitors have included  the French Royal Family and nobles in exile  www.royalyachthotel.com
