Bond Street is adjacent to the Town Church and runs from Mulcaster Street to Conway Street/Library Place. Mulcaster Street carries on to the bus station, taxi rank, Liberation Square and Waterfront and Conway Street and Library Place. Library Place is the location for four of the main clearing banks, another taxi rank and the Jersey Post Office. The Weighbridge area which has now become Liberation Square, and the soon to be opened Liberation Station is pictured right but in the 1800's.

Thought to be the oldest hotel in St. Helier it had various other names. In 1833 it was referred to as the London and Yacht Hotel and there are later references to it as The Hotel de Paris and the Royal Yacht Club Hotel. This is a Victorian style hotel that retains its older features and has three delightful bars, an excellent restaurant and a grill bar. Famous guests have included Queen Victoria, and the hotel has a ship's bell in reception which it is said, came from the actual Royal Yacht. Other visitors have included the French Royal Family and nobles in exile www.royalyachthotel.com

The Lamplighter Tavern is to be found in adjacent Mulcaster Street. The Lamplighter is a delight. This was originally an early 19th century merchant's house. Originally called Daly's Hotel, it was also once called La Grape de Verjus and subsequently the Grapes. The picture illustrates the Lamplighter with its beautifully carved facade created by Captain John Giffard.
The Pomme d'Or Hotel situated on the Weighbridge, has been extensively modernised and has first class restaurant and bar facilities. A luxurious modern hotel, it is part of the Seymour Group of Hotels and offers guests the facilities of the Merton Hotel and Aqua Park to the east of St. Helier. http://www.seymourhotels.com/jersey/pomme/
